Single Origin: Where does your coffee come from?

You may have heard one of our baristas refer to the beans as single origin. But what does that even mean? Well, it means we know and care about where your coffee comes from. Essentially, single origin is coffee talk for knowing the region, producer, or cop where your beans originated.
So, When we offer you a cup of Costa Rica Cumbres del Poas we know that the beans were caringly produced by Dona Francisca and Oscar Chacon, a husband and wife living in the central valley region of Costa Rica.
With blends, on the other hand, it is difficult to know where the beans came from exactly or what their flavor profiles are. With single origin roasting, because we know where the beans are from we also know how their unique flavors differ.
And, at Roast, we go even beyond single origin into single estate and even microlot. Microlot? More coffee talk. It’s a small batch of coffee and it means we know the specific farm and the specific variety of coffee. Here at Roast, the flavors and the stories behind your coffee are important to us. We want to know everything we can about your coffee so that all you have to do is take a sip and enjoy.
